Kennesaw, GA – MediPro, Inc. is currently assisting doctors as they look for ways to meet the expanded deduction limit for the 2013 tax year.
Section 179 is an incentive created by the US government to encourage practices to buy equipment and invest in their own businesses. If a practice purchases the software they need by December 31st, 2013, they can qualify to deduct the full purchase price from one’s gross income.
The 2013 and 2012 deduction limit has been set at $500,000 with a limit on equipment purchases of $2,000,000. After the $2 million limit in equipment has been reached, a bonus depreciation of 50% is offered. This bonus depreciation is only valid for new equipment and can be used by practices that will have net operating losses in 2013.
MediPro has a number of medical software options available for practices of all sizes and specialties. It is strongly advised to take advantage of the tax code and prepare for the shift to ICD-10 going into effect October 1, 2014.
MediPro encourages medical offices to contact their tax professional to see how they may benefit from Section 179 or connect with one of our Sales Consultants at [email protected] or by phone at 1.800.759.1321 x2.
