I have patients that come in my office and they look around and they are like Doc, where are your charts? Where is my chart? Oh, it's in electronic format. What do you mean? It's on a computer. So there's no paper? Well, not unless I printed it up for you.
In general, Electronic Health, it's easy. Everything is there. I don't have to worry about asking my staff, hey, where is that lab report or where did you put the culture or what days did we see – going into a paper chart and realizing that maybe you have missed a visit or who referred the patient to me. Flipping through these paper records trying to find all these things. It's all right there in front of you regardless of what system you use.
I like the fact that I didn't have all these charts anymore. I was able to get everything scanned and it is all in its own electronic format. I was able to do electronic prescriptions. I was able to do all my charts were basically electronic. I still have the billing company and I was still paying 7% like everybody else.
The decision to go to SuiteMed was based more on trying to save money and make the practice more efficient.
