As the owner of a newly purchased practice, I knew that choosing the right software program would be one of the biggest decisions I would make. Fortunately, my previous associate positions had given me exposure to two of the leading systems on the market, Dentrix and Eaglesoft. After using these systems, I knew that the software I chose would need a strong clinical component as well as an easy-to-use software interface. As I began my search, I was shocked at the prices these and other software companies charged for their products and services. I also wasn’t convinced these two systems were what I should go with – they seemed outdated and difficult to use. Then I found DentiMax, a reasonably priced dental system that was intuitive to learn and easy to use.
The patient treatment planning screen is wonderful! It is by far and away the easiest treatment planning software that I have ever used. To access my patient’s treatment, all I do is highlight my patient’s appointment and then click on View Chart. From here, I can easily see the treatment for current appointments as well as completed treatment, conditions, and planned patient treatment. What really sets DentiMax apart from other software systems are the graphical treatment planning buttons. For example, to treatment plan a Root Canal, all I do is click on the Root Canal Icon and then click on the tooth with the abscessed condition – done. DentiMax will now share this information with the front desk which will use this information for future appointments, printing the patient’s treatment plan, etc.. Most importantly for me, it literally takes less than half the time to treatment plan in DentiMax compared to the previous systems I’ve used. Also, I find it useful to glance up at the computer monitor to see what procedures I’m on. I can easily change the appointment procedures and add new procedures as needed.
I have found the Perio charting and the PSR exam screens to be just as easy to use as the clinical chart screen. It’s a breeze to jump into the PSR exam screen and quickly record my six probing depths. The Perio screen is capable of recording every perio condition imaginable so my hygienist customized it to only display the values that she and our insurance companies require. She also uses the Perio Graph as a patient education tool. The Perio exams are easy to print and can be sent to the insurance company electronically or on paper.
I must confess that I spend a good deal of time looking at the scheduler. My favorite part of the scheduler is the ability to view my revenue figures on a monthly calendar. I can view how much money is scheduled for each day of the month, how much money has been posted to the ledger and best of all, DentiMax displays how much money I’ve actually collected. The software also gives me the ability to display this information by provider, making it easy to keep tabs on my hygienist’s performance.
The main scheduler screen is just as useful as the monthly revenue calendar. My office manager can easily double book appointments in an operatory and if needed, move multiple appointments from one day to another. Because DentiMax allows me to customize the information that appears on the appointments, I’ve modified my appointments to display the patient’s age, insurance name and group number as well as the CDT abbreviations. Now, all I have to do is glance over at the computer screen to know everything I need to know for my next patient.
DentiMax’s telephone technical support has been outstanding! The few times that I called support, I was able to get right through to a technician who quickly helped me resolve my concern. It’s great to know that I can receive the answers I need when I need them directly from DentiMax. To be able to talk to a real human being with little to no hold time is very refreshing.
As you can see, I am very satisfied with my decision to go with DentiMax. If you are considering locking yourself in a long term contract with one of the leading expensive systems on the market, you owe it to yourself and your back pocket to check out DentiMax. You’ll be glad you did.
