In a practice with only a few staff members, the term "Server" may be misleading. When computer technicians think of a server, they immediately think of a computer that may range in price from $3,000 - $8,000. That is not the case with ChiroChart. Many smaller offices utilize the most robust, professional computer on their network by adding a backup strategy to it, then using it as their "Server".
The following are the recommended hardware requirements:
1 - 2 Physician Office with a Small Staff
1 - 5 Physician Office with a Large Staff
5 - 7 Physician Office with a Large Staff

CPU Requirements:
The number of CPUs in an office is based on the number of ChiroChart users. Each CPU is only capable of 30 simultaneous connections to the ChiroChart database. For example:
1 CPU: 1-30 ChiroChart Users
2 CPUs: 31-60 ChiroChart Users
CPU Required for Terminal Services:
As with the requirements above, the number of CPUs in an office is based on the number of ChiroChart users. Each CPU is only capable of 30 simultaneous connections to the ChiroChart database. For example:
1 CPU: 1-30 ChiroChart Users
2 CPUs: 31-60 ChiroChart Users
Databases vs. Servers:
For each ChiroChart database required for the office, 1 Windows Server will be required. To ensure optimal performance and full application functionality, two databases may not reside on a single server.
Wireless Networking
Due to the large amount of data transmitted in ChiroChart, ChiroChart recommends the use of ChiroChart Remote, Terminal Services or Citrix to ensure proper performance when running over a wireless network.
Networks/Server
ChiroChart Corporation recommends that a trained networking consultant inspect and upgrade your network, if necessary, to the proper specifications for use. It would be wise to have this individual call our technical support department so they may be briefed on how ChiroChart is utilized on a network.
If your clinic plans to use wireless tablets in the office, the list below is recommended in the order of performance. The connections are divided into categories with the top recommendation for each category listed first. An office may deviate from the top recommendation, but the changes will reflect in the performance.
Wireless Network Hardware
1. Direct Connection with an 802.11n Network
2. Remote Desktop Connection
3. Synchronization
4. Direct Wireless Connection Across the Network
If a clinic has more than one physical location, a thin client solution such as Terminal Services, Citrix, or Remote Desktop is recommended. In a thin client solution, the majority of the workload is placed on the server computer so minimal traffic is required to travel across the network. The following connections are listed in the order that is recommended.
